Der Ulzburg-Cup ist DAS internationale Jugendhandballturnier Norddeutschlands - immer über Himmelfahrt und Pfingsten für D bis A-Jugend!

Vor über 40 Jahren ging es los: als Kleinfeldturnier startete im Sommer 1977 der 1. Ulzburg-Cup auf dem Sportplatz des Beckersbergstadions in Henstedt-Ulzburg mit Mannschaften aus der näheren Umgebung und einer handvoll Helfern um Turniergründer Erich Eggenstein.

Mittlerweile hat sich die Veranstaltung zu einem der größten Jugendhandballturniere Norddeutschlands entwickelt, das an insgesamt neun Tagen in den vier Großsporthallen des Ortes ausgetragen wird. Viele hundert Helfer sorgen jedes Jahr für einen reibungslosen Ablauf des Ulzburg-Cups.

In den über 40 Jahren, die seit dem ersten Turnier bereits vergangen sind, nahmen insgesamt mehr als 100 ausländische Mannschaften aus 13 verschiedenen europäischen Ländern und viele Hundert aus ganz Deutschland teil.

The Ulzburg-Cup is THE international youth handball tournament of Northern Germany. It takes place every year over the weekend of Ascension Day (for kids turning 11 to 14 this year) and over Pentecost (for teens turning 15 to 18).

It all started more than 40 years ago: In the summer of '77 the first Ulzburg-Cup took place as a small-field outdoors tournament on the sports field of the Beckersberg stadium in Henstedt-Ulzburg. Participating teams came from the closer surroundings and tournament founder Erich Eggenstein only had a few helpers at his side.

In the mean time, this event has developed into one of the biggest youth handball tournaments in Northern Germany, which takes place on nine days altogether, in up to six big sports halls of our community. Each year, a few hundred helpers make the Ulzburg-Cup pass smoothly.

During the 40+ years which have already passed since our first tournament, more than 100 teams from more than 13 different European countries and many hundreds out of Germany have already participated.
